Making of the practise Vox Pop...

Hi there,

We've decided to make a practise Vox Pop before going out and filming members of the public including dog walkers and the workers/volunteers at the RSPCA animal shelter. When planning this we actually filmed members of Mill Hill County High School asking them the 4 questions we had prepared for our final vox pop.

"What is your opinion on Staffordshire Bull Terriers which are portrayed as being vicious?"
"Do you believe all dogs are the same and character/behaviour is due to up bringing or the way they are bred?"
"In your opinion do you reckon dogs such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers and so on will have a good reputation in time?
"Do you believe laws about these breeds should be changed? Such as not being allowed off of the lead, being illegal without a licence etc."

After making some footage using the school camcorders/equipment we loaded it onto Adobe Premier editing software where we used our knowledge from previous tasks to make our practise vox pop. This is including cutting down footage, adding titles, adding/making a voice over and adding pictures where our statistics would come up.

Here is our practice Vox Pop!

Here is a screen grab from our practise Vox Pop which shows how we are presenting our questions on the final version. We have a plain black background with a bright eye catching questions presented in white.

Here is a screen grab of 1 member of Mill Hill County High School who we filmed and used within our practise Vox Pop, her answers were excellent and detailed which is what we are aiming for. Her opinion is put across strongly and we appreciate her view :)

Here is a screen grab of how we will present our statistics in our news package. Next to them there is a cartoon image of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier which relates closely to our News Package story and relates closely with our target audience of children.

Here is a screen grab showing how we inputted our cartoon picture of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Clicking on 'Get Media' allows us to access our files where we have saved our images. Once on Adobe Premier we have the ability to drag the image down and place on the screen as we would like.

Here is a screen grab of some of the tools we have available on Adobe Premier which we have learnt to use through previous tasks. The symbol of the scissors allows us to 'cut' all footage taken giving us the opportunity to cut down on unnecessary needs. Alongside the scissor symbol  there is also a 'T' which allows us to place titles and text where need be, this being on top of footage or on blank black screens.

Here is a screen grab of how we combine both footage and voice overs together, we have the ability to delete and add both footage and audio as we like which gave us the chance to add questions and then make a voice over using the school Mac Books and then transferring the audio over through the use of a USB stick and ITUNES.

Here are two photos, one of which shows Natalie filming our practise Vox Pop and the other of her loading the edited footage onto Youtube allowing us to post it on here!

We are now fully prepared to make our real Vox Pop which we will shortly be filming. We are exciting to do the real one and will keep you updated when it is in the making and will post it on here once complete! We will use all of our knowledge with Adobe Premier editing software and will produce a vox pop which is eye catching, bold and of better quality.

Thanks!
Team; Kenneth - Emma - Natalie
